The highest mountain in Sweden’s High Coast offers a front-row seat to nature’s spectacular display.
The High Coast of Sweden is full of wonders – evergreen forests cover the landscape of flat-topped mountains, only broken by lakes and fascinating rock formations. What’s more, this UNESCO World Heritage Site is changing every year, emerging from the sea at 8mm per year to create a landscape that is always slowly but surely changing. There’s nowhere better to enjoy the sumptuous visual splendor of the region than on its highest point, the summit of the Skule Mountain.
Standing at 285 meters tall, the hike up to Skule Mountain, also known as Skuleberget in Swedish, is a relatively friendly walk that takes about an hour and a half, complete with a well-marked trail and beautiful sights all the way up. At the top, your reward is an unobstructed view of the vistas below, featuring deep green rolling hills and glistening lakes as far as the eye can see.
