Milky white water rapidly gushing down from a drop of over 140m – this is the sight you can expect to be welcomed by at the Sivlefossen Waterfall. Located in Hordaland, Norway, you can find this waterfall at Stalheimskleiva road, near another popular, smaller waterfall known as the Stalheimsfossen.


The waterfall is named after Per Sivle, a Norwegian poet, who grew up near the Sivle Farm. The best way to view this waterfall is from the nearby carpark, as it is both safe, and you also get a great view! The view is especially delightful when viewed in the daytime or at midday. Surrounded by dense greenery and sturdy rock formations, the Sivlefossen Waterfall is a dream for any nature lover.

Tips Before You Go
Accessible by car, the drive up the road is rather winding and steep, thus, do be cautious as you approach the waterfall.
If you are travelling with children, avoid the last 100m nearing the waterfall, as it can be dangerous.
