The Shopping Stadsfeestzaal is the crowning jewel of Antwerp’s Meir shopping district. Originally built as a banquet hall used for various festivities, the Stadsfeestzaal was recently refurbished and reopened as a spacious shopping mall housing clothing and cosmetics stores, as well as a multitude of dining establishments.

The majestic exterior features two stone arches, one on top of the other, lavishly decorated with carvings in the Rococo style. The metalwork on the main entrance has a similarly twining, sinuous design, and welcomes you into a dazzling shopping experience like no other.

You will first notice an elegant glass roof crowning the building and bathing it in natural light. The surrounding arched ceiling is features exquisite wall relief decorated with gold leaf. Similar carvings cover the pillars supporting the indoor balcony which stretches around the perimeter of the building and forms the upper floor. Gilded with gold on top and braced by oak parquet floors and warm-toned panelling below, this resplendent shopping mall will make you feel as if you’re trying on clothes in a fairy-tale palace.
