Fall in love with ramen at this museum.
Ramen - a delectable Japanese noodle dish that is synonymous with the country. This dish is so loved by the locals that there is a museum dedicated entirely to ramen! Opened in 1994, the Shin-Yokohama Ramen Museum in actuality resembles more of a food court rather than a museum, even though Japan’s history of ramen noodles is exhibited on the first floor. The gallery showcases the making of the noodles, as well as the interesting variety of ingredients used across Japan. However, the main attraction here is certainly the food court, spanning across two basement floors. Visitors will be able to satisfy their ramen cravings from a selection of nine different stalls, each representing the dish from a different region of Japan. In fact, the area is a recreation of Tokyo from the year 1958, when the instant noodle was first invented. For visitors who would like a taste of every variation of ramen but have a small appetite, fret not; these shops offer a mini ramen variation which serves only a small portion of the dish, allowing visitors to enjoy a sample without feeling too full!
