Shika Snow Mountain

Translating to “a mountain abounding in red deer” in Tibetan, with the red deer symbolizing longevity and peace, the Shika Snow Mountain is a place with deep religious and cultural significance amongst local Tibetans and devotees, and is highly regarded as an auspicious mountain of great prestige and sanctity. From the peak, visitors are treated to magnificent vistas of the surrounding, snow-capped mountainous landscape, including the distinctive peaks of Meili Snow and Jade Dragon Snow mountains, as well as lush green pastoral landscapes of thick forests and airy grasslands.


Visitors can access the peak through the longest cable car ride in Yunnan Province, with a midpoint stop at the charming Yala Green Wave Ranch, which makes for an incredibly picturesque sight with grazing cattle and fields of vibrant, colourful flowers. At the peak, visitors can enjoy a variety of stunning vistas from various look out points and attractions, such as the Azalea Bush with its gorgeous assortment of colourful azaleas, and the enigmatic spiritual Rhino Lake. Tips Before You Go
Visitors are advised to dress warmly (think parkas and thick jackets) as it gets chilly at the summit. Jackets and parkas are also available for rent if necessary.
Visitors are recommended to get oxygen tanks at the base of the mountain if required, to prevent altitude sickness.
