Shihsanhang Museum of Archaeology (十三行博物館)

An architectural gem preserving Shihsanhang’s history.

Opened in 2003, the extraordinary Shihsanhang Museum of Archaeology stands as Taiwan’s first archaeological museum! The museum continues to preserve and showcase the rich history of Shihsanhang through its exhibitions. Not only is itsite rich in history, but its architecture is remarkably interesting too. Its minimalistic yet complex-looking structure, winner of outstanding awards like the “Taiwan Architecture Prize” and the “Far Eastern Architect Awards”, never fails to astound all, especially with the complementing views of the tranquil Tamsui River around it.

Enter into the pristine and spacious exhibition halls filled with cultural artefacts from Shihsanhang spread across the “Back to Shinsanhang” and “Discovering Shihsanghang” exhibitions, while a journey through historical times await at “Explore Shihsanghang”. With so much to learn and explore at this museum, it continues to be a popular attraction and a must-visit for all history and architecture lovers.
