The exterior of the aquarium itself is impressive, resembling the Partheneon with its towering marble columns and Greek-inspired architecture. You already feel prepared to step into another world. With 32,000 species housed inside its impressive structure, there’s no wonder the Aquarium was designated a National Historic Landmark. Here, you can get meet adorable and unusual animals not usually on display, such as Beluga whales, stingrays and even penguins. What’s more, the animals are not organized haphazardly but are featured based on themed exhibits, such as ‘Caribbean Reef’ or ‘Amazon Rising’, which feature a whole host of different sea creatures interacting in their natural habitat. You too will feel immersed in their world, with huge glass panels and even archways allowing you access to their once-secret lives.
