Sentinel Dome

Enjoy the amazing 360-degree view from Sentinel Dome.

The Sentinel Dome is a granite dome located in Yosemite National Park. Not as famous as the Half Dome, this dome offers a less crowded experience but is comparable vantage point from which to view some of Yosemite’s highlights. To get to the top, visitors need to hike a relatively easy 1.8-kilometre trail and climb 400 feet of elevation gain. Take in the breathtaking view of Yosemite National Park from the top of the dome, and remember to bring your camera. Famous landmarks which can be seen from the top include the Yosemite Valley, El Capitan, Nevada Fall and the High Sierra Peaks. Be sure not to miss the fallen Jeffrey Pine tree as well, which died during a drought in 1976, and finally collapsed in 2003. This spot is also popular for stargazing at night. During winter, the dome can be reached from Badger Pass by a ski tour.
