Sanbondaki Falls (三本滝)

A delightful trifecta that is as rare as it is, gorgeous.

Located in Norikura Kogen in Matsumoto, Japan, is a natural wonder so stunning that your jaw will be left hanging. The Sanbondaki Falls, which translates simply to “Three Waterfalls”, is very aptly named as three individual waterfalls – the rightmost waterfall being the Kuroisawa Falls, the middle is the Honsawa Falls and the remaining one is the Mumei Falls – that gush into a single end point, giving rise to one waterfall basin. Ranging from drop distances of 50 – 60 m, each waterfall possesses its own unique formation, giving you a sight that will make you appreciate the wonder of Mother Nature.

Around the waterfalls, the scenery is also a beauty depending on the seasons. During autumn, it is a sea of green, red and yellow to contrast strikingly with the roaring stream of water. In winter, the waterfalls are frozen, as if time does not ebb or flow, capturing the stillness of it all.
