A Romanesque style church in Verona, Italy.
San Fermo Maggiore is a church built according to the Romanesque style in central Verona, Italy. It is associated with the Roman Catholic church and was officially completed in the 15th century. In fact, the history of the church at the current site can be traced all the way back to the 8th century. By the 11th century, a second floor along with the bellower was added by the Benedictine order. It was only till the 13th century that the campanile was constructed. Inside are six bells in F cast which ring with the Veronese bell-ringing art. The exterior of the church features a roofline with pinnacles and it once housed the tomb of a member of the Scaligers inside. The altarpiece within the church is that of St Francis of Assisi designed by Giovanni Battista Belloti.
