San Diego Zoo

You don’t have to be an animal lover to have a field day at the San Diego Zoo!

Home to over 4,000 rare and endangered animals and housing a botanical collection of over 700,000 exotic plants, San Diego Zoo is an absolute must-see. Visit the beautiful habitats of exotic animals such as apes, polar bears, lions, koalas, cheetahs, Asian leopards, gorillas and more. You can opt to embark on your own trail at your own time and pace or enjoy an informative guided tour on a double decker bus/aerial tram. The well-designed exhibits ensure that the animals are well taken care of, with volunteers working hard round the clock to look after them. These exhibits and interactive experiences include the Polar Bear Plunge, Elephant Odyssey, Reptile Mesa, Australian Outback and Ituri Forest, just to name a few. The park’s terrain comprises plateaus, steep canyons and wide areas, providing an expansive setting for both the animals and visitors.

If you are not tired of seeing animals and are eager for more, add the San Diego Zoo Safari Park to your itinerary! Located 32 miles away and run by the same organization as the zoo, the safari experience will give you a chance to see herds of rhinos, giraffes, zebras, elephants and more animals roaming freely in their natural habitats.
