San Diego Air & Space Museum

Let your wonder take flight at this museum dedicated to aviation.

Get your head in the clouds at the San Diego Air & Space Museum, where you can see the history of flight – one of mankind’s greatest achievements – unfold. The museum houses everything to do with aviation, from some of the very first hot air balloons to modern-day spaceships. Here you’ll find an exact flight worthy replica of the “Spirit of St Louis”, the first aircraft to fly from nonstop across the Atlantic. There are also gliders from the Wright Brothers, fighter jets from the World Wars and even the command module of the Apollo IX.

Looking to take to the skies yourself? You can step into the cockpit and become a pilot on one of their MaxFlight Simulators, while kids can look forward to endless hours of fascination at the Kid’s Aviation Action Hangar.
