Samadai Reef

A dolphin paradise for avid scuba divers!

The Samadai Reef is also known as the Dolphin House and is one of the most famous dive sites near Marsa Alam in Egypt. A diving trip here will give you the opportunity to get up close and personal with the friendly spinner dolphins. These intelligent creatures will get close to you as you dive into the water, most likely curious about this new explorer in their underwater world. Don’t be disheartened if you don’t get to interact with any of them during your first dive though, as there’s just no guarantee that you’ll see them all the time. Which is why you will need to keep diving as much as possible here to increase your chances of meeting them! Who knows, they might even start to recognize you if you do it enough. Getting here is actually really easy too, with many boats sailing through this particular reef. If you truly want to get an unforgettable experience though, then why not sign up for a liveaboard trip on a boat? They usually stop at this particular reef at night, giving you ample opportunities to meet the dolphins. Just take note that the water won’t be as clear at night though, becoming an opaque mass of crashing waves. So if you’re afraid of the dark, then perhaps this might not be the most suitable activity for you.
