In Alberta, Canada, there is an attraction that will make dinosaur lovers smile as wide as a Cheshire cat. Named after Joseph Burr Tyrell, who discovered some dinosaur fossils near where the current museum is located, the Royal Tyrrell Museum of Paleontology has been functioning since 1985. This museum traces history on Earth over the past 3.5 billion years, with over 800 fossils on display. Witness the skeletons of well-known dinosaurs, such as the terrifying Tyrannosaurus Rex and the distinctive Triceratops. Gaze at the Nodosaur, discovered in 2011, the remains of the best-preserved armored dinosaur in the world. For a hands-on experience, children 4 and older can enjoy Fossil Casting.

Not only does the museum have an amazing collection of dinosaur fossils, but it also takes part in research expeditions to uncover more specimens of paleontological interest. So if you, like Ross Geller (of NBC Sitcom, “Friends”), feel impassioned by dinosaurs, then there is no better place in Alberta than the Royal Tyrrell Museum of Paleontology.
