Royal Ontario Museum

Canada’s largest and most-visited museum.

You will most certainly berate yourself if you do not visit the Royal Ontario Museum while in Toronto. Art, culture and history are packed tightly in each corner of this museum, the largest one in Canada. The museum is also famed for being Canada’s largest field-research institution. With both temporary exhibitions and permanent galleries, no two trips to this amazing attraction will be the same.

Learn about ancient Egyptian and Middle Eastern civilizations, Chinese religious art, and even about how mammals rose after the extinction of dinosaurs, all under one roof. Discover the world’s largest collection of Burgess Shale fossils here, numbering over 150,000 specimens. This is a great place for a family day out too, catering to the tastes of your young children with the CIBC Discovery Gallery, with interactive exhibits designed to spark their curiosity. These include digging for dinosaur bones for the hopeful paleontologists, and examining fossils and meteorites.
