Known to locals as the ‘Nasho’ or just ‘the Royal’, the Royal National Park stretches across 16,000 hectares of bushland from the coastline to the amazing Hacking River. As such, Nasho offers many walking trails ranging from an hour to a week, with terains that cater to the leisure visitor and also to the extreme explorer such as the 26km coastal track. A highly popular attraction has to be the Park's Figure 8 pools, which are a series of naturally formed '8'-shaped rock poolsonly visible at low tide. A spectacular sight to behold, do catch them while you can lest the tide come in!


In addition, there are a wide variety of great activities for everyone from enjoying a picnic or a barbeque, to fishing, birdwatching and whale watching. Whether you are cycling, walking or swimming, Nasho will provide you with a unique view of the diverse landscapes and the beautiful flora and fauna that this place has to offer. If you're looking to indulge yourself in the Nasho's atmosphere for a while longer, you can choose to set up a camp (of course, you will have to get prior permission National Parks and Wildlife Services) or stay at one of the quaint cottages provided here.

Tips Before You Go
If you\'re visiting in the months of June and August, do look out and observe the coast, for you might be able to catch humpback whales migrate along \'Australia\'s Humpback Highway\'! Of course, do where appropriate shoes when exploring the park as it does involve a lot of walking.
