A non-profit organisation dedicated to educating children to appreciate and take care of the sea life that inhabits our oceans.
The Roundhouse Aquarium may be the smallest of the California Coast Aquariums, but it packs a punch in terms of informative and interesting exhibits. Admission is completely free of charge, which is a testament to the aquarium’s mission to cultivate love of sea creatures big and small in the future generation, in a bid to contribute to preventing the rapid loss of underwater biodiversity.
It’s rare to chance upon a museum that actually invites you to touch the exhibits, but at this aquarium you can get hands on and stroke a slimy sea cucumber in the touch pool and feel the skulls of dolphins, sharks and orcas. It is also fascinating to watch the baby sharks, sunflower starfish and a variety of electric eels, the main star of the show, go about their daily lives in the deep-ocean tank. Children and adults alike will be enlightened by what there is to learn about the weird and wonderful beings that call the sea their home. So come down to the museum and make a donation to make a difference, while learning and having a ball at the same time.
