Round House

For history buffs, this is the oldest building still standing in Western Australia.

The oldest building still in existence in Western Australia, the Round House was the first building established by the Swan River Colony in 1830. Originally a prison, which used to house colonial and indigenous prisoners, it was eventually converted to a police lockup and then into the living quarters for the chief constable and his family in 1900. Following that, it was opened to the public as an attraction in 1966 and is now run by the Western Australian Historical Society. The Round House is a part of Australian history - perfect for those looking to see what life in Australia's past used to look like.
