Rot Fai Park

Bangkok’s hidden gem for a family day out.

A hop and a skip away from Bangkok’s popular and bustling Chatuchak Park and JJ Market is an area that is quite the opposite of the said market. More commonly known as the Rot Fai (Railway) Park, its official name is in fact the Wachirabenchathat Park. What used to be a golf course near the State Railway of Thailand was then developed into a public park for the enjoyment of the locals.

Buzzing with life throughout the day, this hidden gem which stretches across 150 acres of gentle sloping hills and towering trees is a great place for a fun family day! Cycling is especially popular within the park, with bike rentals being priced affordably and a winding 3 km track that is available for usage. Spend some time with beautiful butterflies in the Butterfly House, go boating in the lake, or even take a tranquil stroll in the Buddha garden – do all this and more at the Rot Fai Park!
