Rosenborg Castle

Indulge in the royal splendour of Rosenborg Castle.

The pride of Denmark, the lovely Rosenborg Castle is located in the heart of Copenhagen. Built by King Christian IV in the 17th century originally as a country summerhouse, this glorious castle is filled with historical treasures. Be awe-inspired by the three majestic life-sized silver lions that guard the coronation thrones. Gaze at the most exquisite collections of Venetian glass and the resplendent Flora Danica.

Feast your eyes upon the glittering crowns once worn by the Danish Kings and Queens, including the Crown Regalia. The Throne Chair of Denmark, and Denmark’s globus cruciger (the orb and cross, a Christian symbol of authority) are on display, among other items. Do not leave without setting your eyes on the jaw-dropping diamond, ruby, pearl and emerald sets. If you are visiting during the Easter period (7th to the 17th of April), head to the Great Hall to gaze at the finely embroidered coronation carpets, weaved with gold threads and decorated with 12 nuances of silk yarn. A castle that must not be missed while in Copenhagen.
