Rock Creek Park

An urban oasis where there is something for everyone.

Founded in 1890 by the United States Congress as a recreational space for residents of Washington D.C, Rock Creek Park spans an immense area of 1800 acres. A green sanctuary, nature lovers will be delighted to hike, run, or relax amongst canopies of trees and listen to the delightful birdcalls. Ride a horse through the forest of oaks, beech, cedar and dogwood trees and feel the thrill of the wind rushing past you.

Visit the 19th century Peirce Mill, an enchanting a historic landmark that serves as a Tea House. Bike down all the way to Lincoln Memorial afterwards, and then settle down to enjoy a picnic as you watch the creek burble past. In warmer temperatures, you can head to the boat house under Key Bridge to rent kayaks or canoes. A perfect getaway from the bustling city, visit the peaceful Rock Creek Park to rejuvenate your spirits.
