Expand your knowledge of Madrid’s railway heritage.
Located in the old Delicias station is Museo de Ferrocarril de Madrid (Railway Museum of Madrid), a museum dedicated to the history of the Spanish railway. Boasting one of the largest railroad collections in Europe, visitors will be welcomed by a vast array of railway materials, including vehicles, photographs, recreations, and so on. Besides the exhibits, visitors should take time to admire the building, which is a fine example of 19th-century cast-iron architecture. During spring and autumn, visitors can get a chance to board an old train, the Tren de la Fresa, which takes them on a journey between Madrid and Aranjuez. The café, housed in a 1930s restaurant carriage, is also a popular spot for visitors to dine and unwind after a long day at this museum.
