Quirinale Palace

Twenty times larger than the White House in the USA, the Quirinal Palace houses 1200 rooms and more.

The Quirinale Palace sits atop the Quirinal Hill, the highest of the seven hills in Rome where the ancient Romans used to build temples to worship deities such as Flora and Quirinus. Today, it is one of the three current official residences of the Italian President and has housed thirty Popes, four Italian Kings and twelve presidents. Visit the Quirinal Gardens, measuring 40,000m², which has been transformed over the centuries in accordance with the tastes of the papal court. Be amazed by the fascinating water organ which lies in the heart of the gardens, and was built between 1997 and 1999 by Barthélemy Formentelli. It is uniquely fed by a waterfall with a jump of 18m and has a single keyboard of 41 notes, without any pedal board. With a majestic courtyard, the Quirinal Palace spans a massive area of 110,500 square meters, so don't miss out on a visit to the 9th largest palace in the world!
