Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
Quinta da Boa Vista

A national museum, royal palace and natural haven all in one place.

A picturesque park of stunning beauty, the Quinta da Boa Vista has everything a tourist could want: historical and cultural significance, beautiful sights and a myriad of fun activities. The Quinta da Boa Vista isn’t just a public park, it also houses the Zoo of Rio and the National Museum, which was once the royal palace of the Emperors of Brazil.

In the National Museum, you’ll find extensive collections about natural history, ethnology and archaeology. Visitors more interested in the monarchy will be pleased to know that the museum keeps some of the palace room perfectly preserved. The Throne Room, Ambassadors’ Room and room of Empress Teresa Cristina, for example, exude a timeless regal grandeur with just a hint of nostalgia.
