Protestant Cemetery (Cimitero dei Protestanti)

Rest in Peace amid the bustling city.

Despite being right behind the busy Piramide Metro station, the Protestant Cemetery is a tranquil zone of peace and quiet. Cypress and pomegranate trees populate most of the cemetery's space, and in spite of its name, people from many other faiths are also buried here. Young English poet John Keats was buried here after he died in Rome of tuberculosis when he was just 25 years-old. American sculptor William Wetmore Story was also buried here, with his wife, under a statue of an Angel of Grief, which he designed himself.
