Step into a fairytale forest at Princes Street Gardens, located right in the heart of Edinburgh. It was once submerged underwater and known as Nor Loch. Now, it is a picturesque sight for all to just sit and bask in its beauty, with views of intricate fountains, monuments and the majestic Edinburgh Castle. Stop and smell the flowers at the beautiful, fully-functioning and picture perfect Floral Clock Display, built in 1903 and completely designed with bright blooming flowers.

If flowers aren’t your cup of tea, why not take a stroll along iconic monuments like the gold Ross Fountain, shining in all its glory with intricately carved designs on it, and the Scott and David Livingstone Monuments that add a historical touch to the garden. An even more lively atmosphere awaits during the various seasons, with open-air concerts during the summer, and a dazzling Winter Wonderland complete with a ferris wheel and exhilarating sleigh rides during the festive period!

Tips Before You Go
The gardens can get extremely crowded in the winter, due to the special events and Christmas market being set up. Besides that, it also tends to attract more visitors in the evening and at night, so if you wish to have a quiet stroll and imagine yourself in a fairy tale, then it might be better to come earlier in the day.
