Preah Monivong National Park

A national park characterised by its ancient history, and home to many exotic species of wildlife.

Feast your eyes on endless terrains of lush fields and evergreen rain forests at Preah Monivong National Park, also known as Bokor National Park. Spanning an area of 1,580 square kilometres, this rural haven in Kampot Province is home to not only historic structures but exotic animals as well. Look out for endangered species such as the majestic Asian elephants, Indochinese leopards and Asiatic black bears, and appreciate them in their natural habitat. Overhead, as many as over 300 species of colourful birds fly about, adding much life and diversity to the national park.


If you wish to delve deeper into the park’s history, pay a visit to the ancient grounds of Bokor Hill Station, an old French hill station amidst the plain fields, as well as the Roman Catholic church, still looking beautiful despite its time-worn stone architecture.

Tips Before You Go
The national park experiences sporadic rain and the temperature drops as you travel up Bokor Mountain. It is recommended that visitors bring along a poncho or a rain jacket and warm clothing.
