Porto Vromi Beach

Like a snake winding through an emerald encrusted valley, the blue waters of Porto Vromi lead visitors through breathtaking scenery to finally reach its well guarded treasures.

The narrow bay area of Porto Vromi has made it an excellent harbor for small boats moored close to shore as they await passengers eager to set off to the coves and sea caves beyond. The waters of Porto Vromi itself have much to offer, running several meters in depth. Canoes are even available for rent so adventure buffs may explore the coves tucked away to either side of Porto Vromi. That said, the heavy boat traffic make the well-hidden bay area a scenic spot to be caught on camera, the bright blue teasing the edges of the chalk white limestone and deep green of pine. Setting off from the pebbly shores of Porto Vromi, one can easily reach other famous shorelines such as Shipwreck Beach or the Blue Caves. Alternatively, a short drive south will lead you to the quaint village of Maries, home to the church of Mary Magdalene. Tucked deep within the folds of limestone bluffs, Porto Vromi remains the gateway to a Mediterranean paradise on Zakynthos.
