POLIN Museum of the History of Polish Jews

Winner of the European Museum of the Year 2016.

Located in the Muranów district which was the site of the Warsaw Ghetto during World War II, the POLIN Museum of the History of Polish Jews was opened in 2014. Look out for the Monument to the Ghetto Heroes which was built in memorial of the first Warsaw Ghetto Uprising of 1943, in the main square. Before stepping foot into the museum, take a moment to admire the stunning copper and glass structure facade of POLIN and thereafter, visit the well-curated permanent exhibitions which are divided into eight categories. The highlight of this museum is the spectacular replica of a roof, ceiling and canopy of a lost synagogue in Gwoździec. Afterwards, enjoy sumptuous Kosher food in the museum restaurant and explore the rich collections of the library. Apart from the monument, another structure to lookout for would be the statue of Jan Karski, a Polish resistance fighter who revealed to the allies the existence of Nazi death camps. With so much to do in addition to the interactive exhibits, you are bound to have your fill of fun at the POLIN Museum of the History of Polish Jews!
