Founded in 1949, Plitvice Lakes National Park is Croatia’s most popular tourist attraction and largest national park. Standing as one of the world's most beautiful places, it is no wonder that Plitvice Lakes National Park was registered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site from 1979. Spanning 300 square kilometers, this park consists of 16 crystal lakes, formed naturally through the terrains and connected by 90 magnificent waterfalls.

Tips Before You Go
The best time to visit, without much of a crowd, would be during Spring (late March to early May) and Autumn (late August to early October). It takes about six hours to explore the lakes on foot; alternatively, save two hours by opting for the park\'s free boats and buses, which depart every 30 minutes from April to October.
