Also known as Willowpond Park, Pildammsparken is a neighbourhood park in Malmö that was originally founded for the Baltic Exhibition of 1914. Spanning a total of 45 sprawling hectares, the park is the largest in Malmö and is structured around a system of several old ponds in Malmö that were dug in the 17th century as part of a water reservoir for the city.

Today, the park is both luxuriously timeless and charmingly quaint. Its most iconic structure is a squat, beige-coloured tower with a sharp spire that adds a touch of rusticity to the landscape. While the only relic from the 1914 Baltic Exhibition that still remains is the Royal Pavilion, the structure still cuts a majestic figure in the park itself and now plays hosts to concerts and performances. Tall trees have also been pruned into the shape of giant hedges, surrounding the large meadow that teems with life. Indeed, the Pildammsparken is home to a plethora of birds, so do look out for these graceful creatures as you stroll through this beautiful park. Who knows, you may spot one soaring elegantly in the air! Locals from all walks of life gather here to picnic and enjoy seasonal concerts, in a fascinating display of communal life.

Tips Before You Go
If you are hungry, there is a restaurant at one end of the park. In the middle, there is a hill overlooking the main pond where you can observe the bird activity. However, do note that you cannot feed them with bread.
