Rising majestically at a height of 1,818 m, the Pico do Arieiro is Madeira island's third highest peak (the first being Pico Ruivo). Hike up its marvellous walking routes which takes you through the charming hills of Funchal. From there, there is always an option to head to the harbour of Funchal to board a catamaran for a memorable journey that you will remember for a lifetime – the catamaran will sail along Madeira’s south coast, providing you with plenty of exposure to playful dolphins and whales which frequent the area. Regardless, feel rejuvenated by the fresh air and golden sunshine as you reach the summit and savour the panoramic views of the Madeira island. If you are lucky, you might even get to see the island of Porto Santo on a clear, sunny day.
