Phuket’s Botanic Garden, boasting large collections of local and exotic plants in 30 zones.
Phuket is mostly known for beaches, not gardens, which is precisely what makes the Botanic Garden a refreshing and fascinating place to spend your time. With 30 different zones to visit, the Garden offers a relaxing time for visitors and a fruitful time for those interested in botany or biology.
Though there are hosts of plants from around the world (like 50 different species of cacti!), much of the Garden is dedicated to local plants from Southeast Asia. The fruit orchard and herb garden include common native plants like mangoes and jackfruit while winter garden area displays plants from the north of Thailand with its colder climate. The highlight would definitely be the rice farm exhibit which recreates the home and farm of a traditional Thai farmer, an interactive exhibit where you can see the tools of the trade and learn about Thailand’s history.
