A cute little zoo full of furry friends and exotic flora, perfect for a family day out!
The Perth Zoo is a small zoo containing 1258 animals of 164 species and a diverse botanical collection that came from all over the world to call this little haven their home. It is a full institutional member of the Zoo and Aquarium Association and the World Association of Zoos and Aquariums. Established in 1988, the Zoo was an important leisure destination in its early years and as a modern zoo, aims to deliver an enriching and educational experience with regard to animal conservation to all its visitors.
Though this zoo is small enough to be conquered in half a day, take your time with the family and stroll its many themed exhibitions at a leisurely pace, enjoying the company of the diverse fauna and flora present. Each exhibition is unique as they house different animals based on the habitat of their origins. You can choose to wander through the Zoo's African Savannah and have an encounter with one if its many rhinos, zebras, meerkats and a lion. That, or you could head on down to explore the depth of the Asian Rainforest and gaze at the might Asian Elephants and Sumatran Tigers. Of course, guests do not have to choose one over the another and can head on down to all the exhibitions to witness the animals in all their glory. You can choose to have lunch at the Wild Bites cafe if you're ravishingly hungry, or even have a tantalising picnic! A day at the Perth Zoo is one that will be thoroughly enjoyable for everyone.
