Pershing Square

A park in the centre of Los Angeles.

A historical site due to its centrality, the Pershing Square park used to have a monument to the dead soldiers of the Spanish-American War, and was used as a recruitment and rally point during World War II. However, reopened in 1994, it features beautiful sculptures and art pieces and is a point for relaxation.

The Park features 10-storey bell tower and fountains, and has several public art projects installed in the area. One of the most recent ones is the Liquid Shard, consisting of holographic mylar strips of a 15,000 sq ft surface area that moves according to wind and weather conditions, creating an interactive artistic masterpiece.

There is also a beautiful walkway in the park mimicking earthquake fault-lines, a nod to California’s geology.

Tips Before You Go
The location is very accessible, being on the Pershing Square station. Getting there by car is easy as well, because the Square is on top of a large underground parking lot, though it is recommended you take public transport as parking in central Los Angeles can get very hefty.
