The ultimate relaxation in a place of nature.

Named after its inauguration in the year that Argentina celebrated her 100th anniversary of independence (otherwise known as the Revolución de Mayo), the Parque Centenario is an oasis of verdant green at the heart of the sprawling structures that make up Buenos Aires. The park’s 12 hectares offer a variety of activities for visitors of all ages. If you’re raring to burn off the calories you’ve gained while downing fine Argentinian beef, go for a jog along the rippling lake in the park, which is home to many creatures, from lovely koi fish to honking geese. Majestic swans will swim by, preening as if to ask visitors to capture them with their cameras.

If you’re visiting on a weekend, you will notice the grass overrun by faithful participants of tai-chi and yoga classes. Arm yourself with a book and some snacks to simply relax and let time pass you by. Why not indulge in some mate (the traditional South American beverage) while you’re at it? Catch a live concert or a movie screening in an open area with dappled patches of sunlight falling on the Eva Perón Amphitheatre, or delight your children (and the child in you) with a visit to the Museo de Ciencias Naturales, where you can learn about reconstructed dinosaurs and other animals! There’s just no end to what you can do at this lovely park!

Tips Before You Go
The museum is not open on weekends. If you’re visiting during that time, head to the extensive perimeter rings of the park to find a neighborhood arts, crafts and clothes market.
