Parco San Grato

Where you can’t help but have a spring in your step.

With its fragrant carpet of colourful azaleas, rhododendrons and conifers, the botanical gardens of Parco San Grato embody the phrase “flower power”, and brings forth to visitors the best of spring. Nestled between Monte San Salvatore and Monte Arbostora within the village of Carona, the park is a haven for nature enthusiasts and Instagrammers alike, featuring a dazzling spectacle of flora of all shapes and colours, particularly during the months of April and May.

Six thematic trails segregate the rich diversity of plants at San Grato: Botanical, Relaxation, Art, Panoramic, Azalea Legend, and Sensory. The Botanical trail is best suited for nature enthusiasts and provides fascinating insight into the park’s extensive collection of flora, whilst the Artistic trail is best suited for art aficionados with its variety of brilliant art pieces scattered throughout the trail. The Azalea Legend trail is perfect for families with children to play around and explore the beauty of nature, whilst the Panoramic trail is ideal for Instagrammers looking for magnificent views and that picture-perfect postcard shot.
