Parc de La Perle du Lac

A lovely and romantic spot to experience nature.

Offering an experience that borders on the sublime, the Perle du Lac Park in Geneva is a richly wooded public garden. Its name translates to ‘Pearl of the Lake’ in English, and it was given its name by the wife of Hans Wilsdorf, who is better known as the founder of Rolex. His wife had exclaimed that ‘this [park] is the peal of the lake!’ which gave rise to its current name. Indeed, a short stroll in these beautiful grounds is enough to convince anyone of the truth of her words. The garden is radiant in the daytime, with beautiful views of the lake and a garden filled with dahlias that flower in the autumn, among other attractions. Whether you’re a self-acknowledged romantic or a hardened cynic, this park will surely charm you and melt your heart. A few steps away from the Palais Wilson, it is an enchanting place to stop by on your way to the botanical gardens, with an idyllic atmosphere that will inevitably draw you in.

Tips Before You Go
The park has different draws in different seasons: in summer, the locals like to relax in readily available deck-chairs and enjoy the view of Mont-Blanc. In July and August, you can catch free projections of films in the park. These screenings are typically done in the evening though, so come in slightly earlier and you’ll definitely end up with great seats.
