Paradise Cove Beach

A beautiful public beach just off Pacific Coast Highway 1 with a view fit for Hollywood.

Paradise Cove Beach is a public beach outside a beachfront property and cafe of the same name, and is one of the most iconic beaches of Malibu, with Hawaiian-themed beach umbrellas and beach chairs for sunbathing. The cafe in the area also shows the Hollywood history of the beach, as several films have been shot on-location there. Other than sunbathing and resting with a drink in hand, many also like surfing and visiting the tidepools.

Other beaches are also accessible from Paradise Cove, making it the starting point for many beach walks, including those to the east-facing and quiet Little Dume Beach, as well as the other commercial Big Dume Beach, which is a good animal and whale-watching spot due to its elevation. The route to these beaches are scenic as well, as you have to watch through limestone formations from Paradise Cove Beach, admiring the local geology.

Tips Before You Go
Though there are free parking spots in the area, they get filled up very quickly as the Paradise Cove property parking spots can be priced quite steeply, especially for all-day parking. Reaching early in the morning is thus crucial, but you could also get a parking discount by eating at the Paradise Cove Cafe.
