Papafragas Beach

Rocks and deep sea caves galore, this is the Papafragas Beach!

Hear Ye, Hear Ye! Pack your bags and head to the Papafragas Beach in Milos, where cool waters and deep sea caves await you! Before we reveal anything else, let us tell you an interesting fact: The cavern of Papafragas was used as a pirate base back in the Byzantine period. Pretty cool real-life Pirates of the Caribbean stuff, huh? The beach itself is considered small, but it is flanked by enormous rocks on both sides, which lead to the open Aegean Sea. You can swim along these rocks and exit at the opening on the other side to enjoy the view of the open sea. Another fascinating fact about this place is that the sea water changes colour according to the weather and light – yet it is always crystal clear. This is why the beach is known to be a great place for a swim, especially if you fancy a little underwater cave exploring. History and adventure are in perfect harmony at the Papafragas Beach.
