Constructed in the 19th century, the Palacio de Gaviria was one of the most ostentatious palaces of its time. Dripping with luxury and wealth, the palace was greatly inspired by the palaces of the Italian Renaissance - in all its flair and luster. Officially opened in 1851 by Queen Isabell II, the palace was renowned for the extravagant parties held there. After that, it was closed for half a decade, but this cultural site is now open to the public as an art gallery - its splendor preserved. Walk through the ornate halls and witness 19th-century luxuriousness, while appreciating the complexities of contemporary art.
