Experience how it feels like to live in a palace which was once home to a noble family.
The stunning Palace of the Marqués de Dos Aguas is a result of a few centuries of renovations and modifications. Designed with the Rocco style after its original Gothic theme, its façade alone is telling of the grandeur that awaits you inside. The walls and furniture are adorned with intricate patterns, which is unsurprising as its owners were extremely wealthy in their lifetime. The chandeliers and large spaces in the palace’s many rooms are also a testament to this. On the ground floor, there is even space to house an exhibition of chariots and carriages that were once used by aristocrats.
The palace is also home to the González Martí National Museum of Ceramics and Decorative Arts, which includes one of Spain’s greatest ceramic collections. The museum encompasses items stemming from Spain as well as Rome and Greece. Contemporary works by renowned artist Picasso can even be found here. This museum is incorporated into the palace, with each level dedicated to a different exhibition, with the ceramics collection being on the highest floor. For a more immersive experience to appreciate the art and culture, there are also educational activities available.
