Orrido di Bellano

Come and visit nature’s wonder at Italy’s Orrido di Bellano.

One of Italy’s most spellbinding natural sites has a rather peculiar name: Orrido di Bellano. In the local language, Orrido means “horrid”. Are you starting to wonder why? The water that runs here through the gorge, passes caves where it makes a howling sound. Think back to all the horror movies you’ve watched – the eerie howling sound seems to have come out of at least one of them. The water here has also carved the rocks, with erosion taking place over many years. In fact, the gorge and the natural waterfall are believed to be more than 15 million years old! When you are here, we recommend you to go along the walkway where you will get to witness ancient rocks and caves as well as gushing clear blue waters Even though your fear might initially get the better of you, you should conquer them and press on. At the end of the walk, you’ll know it was all worth it as you enter a paradise where the waters take a dive into a blue lagoon.
