Oman Children’s Museum

Get your tots hyped, it’s time to go to the museum!

Well, the name can be rather deceiving - the Oman Children’s Museum was established with children in mind, and a delightful medium for them to learn Science and enjoy while doing so. If you find yourself enjoying right along with them, then you wouldn’t be the first! Even from afar, the white domes, with pale streaks of baby blue, can be seen. Head into the museum with your kids and watch as their eyes light up with curiosity and delight, even if they were the least inclined.

His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said al Said opened the museum on the 20th National Day celebrations in Oman, and it is a delightful way to discover the human life, physics and how science has progressed over centuries. Squeal along with the kids as you experience (fake) electric shocks, and exchange high-fives when you trigger lightning bolts. You can even launch a hot air balloon, or watch as the siblings exchange messages through a whisper dish. If you get spooked out in the “haunted” dancing ball, you can cling to your kids and move on to peer at microscopic specimens. Whether you’re peering at skeletons or playing the Probability Game with your family, it promises to be a relaxing and enjoyable visit for all.
