Ōdōri Park (大通公園)

An oasis of green in the heart of Sapporo.

Literally translated to ‘large street park,’ Odori Park is located at the centre of Sapporo, dividing the city into north and south. Spanning about 1.5 kilometres and covering 78,901 square metres of space, the luscious green park offers visitors a relaxing space during the warmer summer months. Odori Park is also the main site of the Sapporo Snow Festival, held annually in early February, which showcases an impressive array of snow statues of different shapes and sizes. Local landmarks like the Sapporo TV Tower and the Sapporo City Archive Museum are also found within the park. Located at the eastern end of the park, the Sapporo TV Tower stands at 150 metres tall and provides an observation deck at 90 metres, which gives beautiful panoramic views over the city centre. The tower is illuminated during the evening, beautifying the tower and the surrounding green landscape all at once.
