The Odeon of Herodes Atticus is a wonderful stone structure of an open-theatre, located right at the entrance of the Acropolis. This theatre, definingly Roman-styled in nature, was built in 160AD - 174AD by Herodes Atticus, as an ode to his wife, and has since hosted several renowned performances in the past few decades.


If you happen to visit during the summer, it is a must to catch the yearly Athens & Epidaurus Festival where you will be provided with the wonderful opportunity to have a seat at its uniquely Ancient Greek-styled theatre.
