Ocean Beach

Reconnect with nature at San Francisco’s Ocean Beach.

Within the city of San Francisco lies Ocean Beach, the largest of all San Francisco beaches. Situated next to Golden Gate Park, the easily accessible beach is famous for its strong currents and waves, making it a popular spot for surfers. It is also frequented by visitors who wish to escape the hustle and bustle of the city - the perfect place for a relaxing stroll along the shore, accompanied by the hypnotic sound of crashing waves. Talk a walk up the sandy path along the top of the dunes, or the paved path that lies just across the Great Highway, which is popular with walkers and cyclists. Due to the beach’s inhospitable weather and strong rip currents, coupled with terribly cold water and strong waves, swimming is absolutely off-limits, even for the most experienced swimmers. Nevertheless, the beach makes up for it with its mesmerising view over the Pacific Ocean - a great place to fish, picnic or jog.
