A stellar example of French-Gothic architecture, with stunning views of the Paris skyline from the peak.
Also known as Our Lady of Paris, the majestic medieval cathedral of Notre-Dame has stood since 1345. The cathedral is known to be an exemplary monument of French-Gothic architecture. Sacred Catholic relics are housed within its walls, chief amongst which lie the artifacts used in Jesus Christ's crucifixion. These include the Crown of Thorns, a piece of the True Cross and one of the Holy Nails. Those belonging to the Christian faith would do well to worship at the feet of the Cross in one of history's most acclaimed cathedrals.
Alternatively, you might want to scale up the 387 narrow steps to Notre-Dame's iconic peak - where you can bask in the splendor of the famed bell and gargoyles up there, which were also featured in the famous Vincent Hugo novel, "The Hunchback of Notre-Dame”. Behold the Paris skyline at the zenith of Our Lady as well, where you will be treated to a view largely unchanged by the ravages of time.
