North Sydney Olympic Pool

A pool with a view.

Originally built in 1936 as a project to create jobs during the period of the Great Depression, and known to be a fantastic setting of the Empire Games of 1938, the North Sydney Olympic Pool today was formerly known as the “Wonder Pool”. Situated beside the scenic Luna Park and the Harbour Bridge as it overlooks the iconic Sydney Harbour and Opera House, this is definitely a pool with a superb view. With art deco-style decorations, this Olympic-sized outdoor pool is home to numerous world records set by legendary swimming stars like Lorraine Crapp and John Devitt.

In addition to the main pool, sports fanatics will be delighted with the other facilities available, which include a 50-meter heated pool, a 25-meter indoor pool, a gymnasium, sauna, spa and café. One of the rare swimming pools located at the very heart of downtown Sydney, this Olympic pool exudes a sense of grandeur with its sheer size, and offers a very heartening swimming experience with some of the loveliest views of the city.
