Specially located on the University of Sydney campus, Nicholson Museum is a free, public museum showcasing many interesting historical artifacts including a real mummy. Named after its founder Sir Charles Nicholson, who was also one of the founders of the University of Sydney, the museum contains a substantial collection from the ancient world of Egypt, Cyprus, Greece, Italy and Europe.

Founded in 1860, the Nicholson Museum contains the largest range of antiquities in both Australia and the entire Southern Hemisphere. It even includes objects acquired by Nicholson himself, during his travels to Egypt and Italy back in 1856-1857. Comprising of both permanent and temporary exhibitions that continually change and grow, history buffs that are especially keen in Middle Eastern and Egyptian history are definitely in for a treat.
